In Workstorm, members of a company can securely invite external guests to collaborate on projects or join conversations. Workstorm is private by default, so guests are invited into specific Direct Messages (DM) or Channels. Once a guest has access to Workstorm, they will only see the DMs or Channels they are invited to.
Create an Account
External guests, as well as the DMs and Channels that they are in, are denoted by the orange globe icon (left).
If you are invited to join Workstorm as an external guest you’ll receive a link from an existing Workstorm member. Follow the steps to create an account:
- Click on the invite link to open the sign-up page.
- Follow the instructions in the portal to enter your email, name, and password.
- Click Create Account.
Personalize your Workstorm
Once you create an account, you will be presented with a brief tutorial to help you navigate the platform. You will see the DMs and/or channels you’ve been invited to as an external guest.
To personalize your Workstorm:
- Further develop your Workstorm profile by adding a profile picture, your job title, and configuring security settings.
- Explore and customize your individual Workstorm experience with access to more menus, display modes, and help resources.
Begin Collaborating
As an external guest in another’s company, you have access to the same collaborative tools as any other user.
- In the Messages menu, collaborate 1-1 with Direct Messages or in groups with Channels.
- In the Connections menu, add new members and initiate Direct Messages.
- In the Meetings menu, start an ad hoc Video Conference or schedule one with the Workstorm Calendar.
- In the Files menu, view any files that you upload and that have been shared with you in Workstorm. Integrate with Microsoft 365 and Google to access and share OneDrive and Google Drive files.
