How to Upload a File to a Channel or Direct Message

In Workstorm, you can send files to Channels and Direct Messages from within the conversation. Files can be uploaded from various Document Management Systems, including OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and iManage. Files can also be uploaded from your device.

To upload a file from a File Repository

  1. Navigate to the bottom-left of the conversation, beneath the message bar, and select the Upload File icon 
  1. Select a File Repository; in this video, we’ll select OneDrive 
  1. If you are not already logged into your repository account, click the Sign-in button and enter your credentials. 
  1. Navigate to the file or use the search bar at the top of the window 
  1. Click Share Files and ensure the file or files appear in the conversation 

To upload a file that is saved to your device: 

  1. Navigate to the bottom-left of the conversation, beneath the message bar, and select the Upload File icon 
  1. Select Upload from Desktop 
  1. Drag and drop your file into the Upload Files pop-up window. Alternatively, click Select File(s) from Desktop, locate your file, and click Open 
  1. Preview your file. If you need to send another, click Upload Another File. You may also add a comment to accompany the file 
  1. Click Upload and ensure the file or files appear in the conversation
