  • Access controls for files allow the owner of a file to select a permission level when they upload or share the file to a Message, Stream, or Task
    • A recipient of a file can then take actions based on permissions granted by the owner
  • This applies when a user uploads a file directly from their desktop and when a user shares a file from the Workstorm File repository
  • This feature does not apply to documents shared from connected document management systems (DMS) where the permissions of the file are set from the DMS

Description of Permissions:

  • Owners of files can always preview, share, download, and delete the file from any Message, Stream, or Task they shared it to
  • There are 3 main permissions:
    • Download: Recipient can preview, share, and download the file (Download is the default selection)
    • Share: Recipient can preview and share the file
    • View: Recipient can only preview the file
  • If a user needs to share the same file to multiple locations, different permission levels may be chosen based on the need
  • The owner and anyone with Download or Share can:
    • See a log of where they shared the file (Messages, Tasks, Streams)
    • Remove the file from a location that they shared the file to
  • When a user is logged into their Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace account, they can see the next seven days of their calendar in the events feature panel
  • From the events feature panel, users can:
    • Create new events
    • Modify existing events they own
    • Join a video conference for an event
    • View event details
    • View tasks created by or assigned to the user
    • View tasks assigned as a watcher
  • Tasks that have start and/or due dates within the next seven days will display in the events feature panel
    • If the task has a start and a due date, the task will display both the start and end event on the applicable date/s
    • Users can open the task details from the task event
  • Users can customize what displays in the events feature panel including the options to:
    • View only calendar events
    • View only tasks
    • View both calendar events and tasks
    • Show nothing
  • Users can share files from a connected DMS integration directly to Streams and Tasks
  • All task and file repository locations have advanced filter and sorting options based on field values
  • Stream dashboards now have customized layouts and sizing of all the feature panels
    • Drag and drop panels into any order or layout desired
    • Remove any panels that are not needed
    • Use the drag tool at the bottom right of panels to re-size width and height
  • Toggling between a Stream’s channels (from the Stream or from the Messaging menu) and its dashboard offers a more seamless experience
    • Stream members can also reply to channels they are part of directly from the main Stream dashboard
  • When viewing a Stream’s tasks from the main Tasks menu, users can return to that Stream dashboard with one click
  • When creating a task from an email being viewed in Workstorm, users can add attachments to the task
  • The iOS and Android mobile and tablet apps were updated to include file permission updates made in the web browser and desktop based apps
  • Squashed bugs
