Upload Files to a Channel or Direct Message

Members of a conversation can upload files directly to a Channel or Direct Message. Files can be uploaded from Desktop, from Workstorm Files, or from any integrated Document Management Systems.

To upload a file from a DMS: 

  1. Beneath the Message bar, select the Upload File icon. 
  2. Select a DMS from the list provided. 
  3. If you are not already logged into your DMS account, click the Sign-in button and enter your credentials. 
  4. Navigate to the file or use the search bar at the top of the window. 
  5. Click Share Files and ensure the file(s) appear in the relevant Channel or DM. 

      To upload a file from your device:

      1. Beneath the Message bar, select the Upload File icon. 
      2. Select Upload from Desktop. 
      3. In the Upload Files pop-up, select your file through one of two methods: 
        • Drag and drop your file into the Upload Files pop-up window. 
        • Click Select File(s) from Desktop, locate your file, and click Open. 
      4. To add another file to the upload, click Upload Another File. 
      5. Add a brief comment to accompany the file(s). 
      6. Click Upload and ensure the file(s) appear in the relevant Channel or DM.
