Upload Files to a Channel or Direct Message

In Workstorm, you can send files to Channels and Direct Messages from within the conversation. Files can be uploaded from a document management system (DMS), such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, or iManage. Files can also be uploaded straight from your device. 

To upload a file from a DMS: 

  1. Navigate to the bottom-left of the conversation, beneath the message bar, and select the Upload File icon 
  1. Select a DMS – OneDrive for example 
  1. If you are not already logged into your DMS account, click the Sign-in button and enter your credentials 
  1. Navigate to the file or use the search bar at the top of the window 
  1. Click Share Files and ensure the file(s) appear in the relevant conversation 

To upload a file from your device: 

  1. Navigate to the bottom-left of the conversation, beneath the message bar, and select the Upload File icon 
  1. Select Upload from Desktop 
  1. Select your file using one of the following two methods: 
  • Drag and drop your file into the Upload Files pop-up window 
  • Click Select File(s) from Desktop, locate your file, and click Open 
  1. Preview your file: 
  • If you need to send another, click Upload Another File 
  • Add a comment to accompany the file 
  1. Click Upload and ensure the file(s) appear in the relevant conversation
