Create a Waiting Room for Video Conference

Moderators can enable the Waiting Room feature for all Workstorm Video Conferences or audio-only meetings. Using the Waiting Room, moderators can accept or reject any attendees requesting to join the call.

To enable the Waiting Room from the Workstorm Calendar:

  1. Click on the Calendar icon in the left sidebar, and at the top of the left-sidebar, click New Event.
    • Alternatively, select the View Calendar button to open the Calendar window. Then, click in an open slot in the Calendar window to begin scheduling an event at the time.
  2. Input your event name, start time, and end time.
  3. Click the Add Video Conference Call to Event toggle. Workstorm Video Conference details will populate in the description box and the waiting room toggle will appear.
  4. Click the Use waiting room toggle to enable Waiting Room.
  5. On the right side, search for people to add to the event, or input their email to send an invitation straight to their inbox.
  6. Click Create Event.

Note: The meeting organizer can enable the Waiting Room feature after the original invite is sent from the Workstorm Calendar.

To enable the Waiting Room at the start of your active Video Conference:

  1. In the left sidebar, open the More menu and select the Moderator icon.
  1. In the Moderator Settings pop-up, click on the Waiting Room tab.
  1. Click the Enable Waiting Room toggle and close the pop-up.

  1. Click the Waiting Room tab.
  1. When attendees join the call, the moderator may choose to grant or deny them entry.

While in the Waiting Room, users can configure their meeting settings, including turning their microphone and camera on or off by default when they join, choosing Virtual Background preferences, and selecting the proper camera, speaker, and microphone devices to use during the meeting.

Users with Workstorm accounts who are signed out have the option to sign-in to their account without leaving the Waiting Room.
